THE ROLE

As Senior IT Engineer at Sotheby’s, you will act as the lead onsite IT technician in our Paris offices while collaborating with a team of contracted engineers from our managed service provider. As a hands-on engineer as well as a lead for improvement projects, the role will require someone with the technical acumen to assist with a broad scope of technical challenges, and the willingness to address a range of IT needs both simple and complex.

Through an IC role, applicants should be well-suited to work autonomously while setting standards for other engineers and communicating regular updates to departmental leadership. This will be Paris’ first directly-employed IT engineer role, and as such, successful candidates should be adept at creative problem solving and have experience with managed service or staff augmentation team structures.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Assist in the tracking of inventory and selecting new hardware for procurement
  • Lead the technical production of our public-facing live-streamed auctions with guidance from our Global Auction Production Manager
  • Provide technical support for those sales which includes telephony, networked printers, and the use of proprietary systems to stream sales video
  • Travel regionally to support Sotheby’s sales and to assist with hardware upgrades and urgent requests as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of ethics and integrity and adheres to legal, compliance and information security requirements.
  • Occasional travel to our satellite office, gallery, and warehouse locations in the Paris area
