Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Supply Management (RISM) has an open Accountant position on the RISM Business Resources team.  RISM is responsible for direct procurement of external supplier material across the enterprise.  The RISM mission is to cultivate a culture of collaboration, uphold the highest standards of compliance and develop a robust supply base that drives customer success and protects Caterpillar’s competitive edge.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial record keeping, governance and reporting for the RISM organization as directed by management.

What You Will Do:

• Oversight for period cost forecasting and analysis for the RISM group, including collaboration with resources across multiple divisions and centralized resources
• Support enterprise sustainable value creation initiative including project tracking, governance, reporting and goal setting
• Ensure adherence to guidelines and approval levels for price changes, project tracking, surveys, and other procurement documents supporting a strong compliance culture
• Be a trusted business partner to the Product Facing and Strategy business leaders within RISM
• Create and utilize automated tools to drive efficiency to support scale of the business functions and accurate financial results

What Skills & Experiences You Will Need:

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 3+ years of relevant experience
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Additional Information:

• Location: This position can be located in Mossville, IL or Dallas, TX; This role is a full time position and currently requires 5 days a week in office

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
