Job Summary:

Under general supervision the Identity and Badging Specialist provides customer service in all matters related to badging operations. This includes the creation of identification badges, troubleshooting badge access issues and maintaining badging supplies for staff, contractors, affiliates, etc. This position also monitors badging and access email accounts, and completes requests for new badges and grants access as appropriate.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Coordinates with building coordinators/division chiefs to ensure access control is granted and removed as appropriate. Enrolls, issues, and activates SmartID badges programmed with role and location based physical access security. Handles all applicant card status communications. Conducts background checks for contractors and completes contractor clearances. Takes photos and captures digital signatures. Performs card custodian functions ensuring all cards are stored securely. Monitors and maintains adequate supply of badges and reorders when appropriate. Conducts routine badge audits. Collaborates with Security to ensure card destruction and deactivation upon termination. Participates in special projects to promote efficiencies across department teams. Other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma General or GED General

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 1 year or more of experience in using computer software programming. Required Minimum 5 years or more of experience in healthcare environment. Preferred
