Innovation Operators are subject matter experts in specific revenue cycle domains who also understand the broader end‑to‑end revenue cycle. In this role, you’ll help redesign workflows, uncover root causes, and partner with product, engineering, and analytics teams to build and validate automation and AI‑driven solutions.

This is a hands‑on role for professionals who enjoy solving complex problems and shaping the future of healthcare operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as a domain subject matter expert while maintaining strong end‑to‑end revenue cycle literacy
  • Identify upstream root causes that drive downstream rework, friction, and revenue leakage
  • Design future‑state workflows and operating models with measurable impact
  • Build and maintain domain‑specific knowledge graphs (inputs, rules, actions, outcomes)
  • Participate in design sessions and rapid innovation sprints
  • Test and validate automation, ML, AI, and agentic models using real operational scenarios
  • Translate expert judgment into rules, decision trees, training data, and guardrails
  • Support pilots and controlled rollouts with clear success criteria
  • Document operational logic and findings for reuse and scale

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Revenue Cycle Management
  • Strong end‑to‑end revenue cycle knowledge
  • Proven process mapping and improvement skills
  • Data‑driven problem‑solving mindset
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and fast‑changing environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity and aptitude for automation, AI, ML, and emerging technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality

Role‑Specific Opportunities

Scheduling SME Operator

  • Diagnose root causes of access delays, no‑shows, and scheduling errors
  • Model decision logic for appointment types, slot optimization, and prioritization
  • Design future‑state scheduling workflows incorporating clinical and capacity constraints

Financial Clearance SME Operator

  • Identify causes of eligibility errors, authorization failures, and preventable denials
  • Build payer‑specific decision trees and clearance pathways
  • Test predictive and agentic clearance models

Clinical Documentation SME Operator

  • Identify documentation gaps impacting coding and denials
  • Design upstream documentation workflows
  • Partner with clinicians to test AI‑assisted documentation tools

Coding SME Operator

  • Identify coding variance and rework drivers
  • Define logic and edge cases for AI‑assisted and autonomous coding
  • Validate model outputs for accuracy and compliance

Billing SME Operator

  • Analyze systemic causes of claim edits and rejections
  • Design workflows to increase clean claim rates
  • Translate billing logic into automation‑ready rule sets

AR Follow‑Up SME Operator

  • Identify structural AR drivers and payer behavior patterns
  • Design prioritization models optimizing yield and resolution speed
  • Test agentic AR follow‑up models

Transaction Posting SME Operator

  • Identify posting and reconciliation errors
  • Design automated posting logic with robust exception handling
  • Detect underpayments through expected vs. actual payment models

Denials SME Operator

  • Separate true root causes of denials from payer behavior
  • Design actionable denial taxonomies and prevention models
  • Test AI‑assisted appeal generation

Underpayments SME Operator

  • Identify systemic underpayment drivers
  • Design detection and recovery models
  • Partner with contracting and legal teams as needed

Product Manager

  • Own product roadmaps and prioritize initiatives
  • Translate business needs into working prototypes
  • Partner closely with design, engineering, and users
  • Drive execution from concept through rollout

Technical Program Manager

  • Lead complex technical programs end‑to‑end
  • Align architecture and delivery with business goals
  • Drive cross‑functional accountability and risk management
  • Continuously improve execution through innovation and best practices

Compensation & Benefits

Orchestration Works offers highly competitive compensation, performance‑based incentives, and relocation support for roles based in Austin, Texas.

These roles are based in Austin, Texas and follow a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of three days onsite per week. Candidates may travel to Austin during the first year; however, relocation to Texas is required.
