The Senior Director, Sponsorships & Partnerships Marketing is a senior leadership role responsible for regional sponsorship/partnership strategy and for developing and executing (in partnership with Business Units) comprehensive, year-round portfolio-wide marketing strategies that drive sustainable category and share growth for all MEU brands. This role leads strategy and activation, ensuring Business Units across Europe have the best practices to execute with excellence locally and the strategies address the local market needs. Key focus areas include enhancing brand awareness, fostering consumer loyalty, and stimulating sales, playing a key role in-store and as part of an omni approach for the business across regional and local brands.
 

This position requires close collaboration with brand teams, sales teams, and external partners to establish Mondelēz brands as the preferred snacking choices across diverse consumer touchpoints, ultimately driving purchase through impactful displays and targeted customer activation, whist driving a data and omni strategy.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development & Leadership:

    • Develop and champion a multi-year Marketing strategy encompassing a clear mission statement, defined brand roles, a comprehensive activation calendar, and strategic partnerships.

    • Establish clear objectives, KPIs and ROI metrics for all sponsorships and partnerships to drive performance measurement, sharing key learnings and recommendations with stakeholders, and optimize MEU Marketing strategy and execution.

    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and best practices.
       

  • Activation Program Development & Execution:

    • Lead the ideation, development, and execution of large-scale activation programs leveraging paid media, public relations, consumer promotions, display development, and impactful in-store execution.

    • Oversee, support, and consult on other programs, with a particular focus on enhancing brand equity, in-store presence and omni-channel integration.
       

  • Partnership Management:

    • Create a pipeline of high-potential partners (including sports, culture, events, media, influencers) and develop selection criteria and evaluation frameworks for opportunities.

    • Oversee the execution of partnership agreements for total Europe (e.g., sports).

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key agencies (e.g., talent, creative, media).
       

  • Stakeholder Communication:

    • Lead Stakeholder meetings to ensure strategic alignment and visibility of programs to senior leadership, brand managers, and cross-functional partners.
       

  • Budget Management:

    • Build a governance and an effective allocation model in the Marketing Budget to maximize ROI.
       

  • Team Leadership:

    • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, shopper insights and category development in Business Units to ensure alignment of sponsorship and partnership activities with regional marketing strategies

    • Influence stakeholders across different functions and levels of the organization to gain buy-in and support for sponsorship and partnership initiatives.

    • Act as a subject matter expert and capability builder on sponsorships and partnerships, providing guidance and support to marketing & sales teams.
       

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of commercial experience, including brand and agency management, campaign development, and customer activation.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across internal stakeholders and with external partners.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of how Brand Marketing drives business priorities, impacts the P&L, and interacts with all facets of the organization.

  • Data-driven and analytical mindset, capable of conducting thorough assessments, presenting clear insights, and driving data-informed decision-making.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

  • Deep understanding of Integrated Marketing Communications principles and best practices.

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

  • Agility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed organization.
