Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models (Import, DirectQuery, or Composite) with a strong focus on performance, usability, and governance.
Create robust DAX measures following best-practice modelling and performance patterns.
Ensure consistency of metrics, definitions, and calculations across reports.
Data Modelling & Analytics Enablement
Design analytical data models optimised for reporting and self-service analytics.
Work closely with data engineering teams to influence and consume Snowflake and dbt models.
Translate complex transactional and financial data into business-friendly analytical structures.
Delivery & Stakeholder Management
Own reporting initiatives end-to-end, from requirements gathering through to production release.
Partner with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage scope, and prioritise delivery.
Coordinate delivery timelines, dependencies, and release planning for reporting assets.
Support UAT, stakeholder sign-off, and post-deployment refinement.
Platform & Operational Excellence
Support the ongoing reliability, performance, and usability of the Power BI platform.
Investigate and resolve production issues related to data accuracy, refresh failures, or performance.
Contribute to governance standards including naming conventions, workspace design, deployment processes, and access controls.
Assist in re-engineering legacy reports and models to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
Qualifications;
Relevant business, quantitative or IT related degree or certifications will be an advantage
Experience;
Proven experience delivering enterprise Power BI reports and semantic models in a production environment.
Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, performance optimisation, and workspace management.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis and reporting use cases.
Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (star schemas, facts, dimensions, grain, surrogate keys).
Exposure to Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms.
Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery approaches.
Demonstrated ability to manage reporting deliverables through to completion with minimal supervision.
