WHAT YOU’LL DO
Duck Creek’s products are built for a cloud-native, true SaaS architecture, characterized by a complex, multi-layered code structure and functionality. All products are hosted on the Azure cloud platform, leveraging various Azure services, and supported by an end-to-end CI/CD pipeline for automated testing, build, and deployment.
As part of the Distribution Management team, you'll play a key role in transforming our product into a multi-tenant, true SaaS solution utilizing advanced DevOps and cloud-native methodologies.
In this role, you’ll mentor and guide other engineers, tackle issues or challenges faced by our customers, and work closely with multiple stakeholders to triage and resolve customer issues. Your collaboration with engineers and stakeholders across Duck Creek will be essential.
Beyond technical skills, leadership qualities are crucial to advance our DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of our applications.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
We are looking for a passionate and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 8-10 years of experience in DevOps and Cloud-native environments. You should have deep expertise in Azure services and a robust DevOps technology stack supporting automation, collaboration, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and beyond.
Knowledge and Skills:
Possesses a deep understanding of DevOps implementation on the Azure cloud, encompassing security and monitoring to support Agile value delivery to customers.
Extensive knowledge in the following areas:
Deployment orchestration using Kubernetes (K8S) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for secure and isolated tenant environments.
Implementation and management of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure Pipelines, including service containerization and compilation.
Creation and management of infrastructure for Kubernetes/AKS and Azure DevOps (ADO) build agents using Terraform.
Integration of security and quality checks into the CI/CD lifecycle using tools such as Snyk, Black Duck, and SonarQube.
Scripting to automate repetitive tasks and manage infrastructure efficiently using languages like PowerShell, Python, or Java.
Best practices for version control and branching in GitHub.
Multitenancy and Cloud-Native Solutions:
Design and implement multitenant solutions to support multiple customers on shared infrastructure.
Ensure the security and isolation of tenant environments.
Leverage cloud-native technologies to enhance application performance and reliability.
Collaboration and Mentorship:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers.
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
Identify and document opportunities to optimize DevOps solutions.
Solutioning, Collaboration, and Mentorship:
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers.
Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Good to have:
Observability and Monitoring:
Develop and implement comprehensive observability strategies using OpenTelemetry (OTEL), Grafana, and Splunk.
Experience with Prometheus open-source monitoring and alerting toolkit designed for reliability and scalability.
Monitor the health, performance, and security of applications and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Set up and manage alerts, dashboards, and incident response processes to address issues proactively.
