Join Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute team and experience world-class healthcare at its best. Taussig Cancer Institute is ranked fifth in the United States, and first in Ohio. Taussig Cancer Institute is a 36-bed Hematology/Oncology unit, known as G70, on Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. This highly acute unit cares for patients who have a cancer diagnosis involving solid tumors and/or metastatic disease.
As a Registered Nurse on the Taussig Cancer Institute G70 Unit, you will:
· Be specially trained to assist with giving patients chemotherapy.
· Provide support to adult patients on the unit.
· Focus on the treatment of many varied malignancies and hematologic diseases from new diagnosis to end of life.
· Provide care alongside a multi-disciplinary team of caregivers.
· Integrate the best treatment modalities to a complex oncologic population from admission to discharge.
The ideal caregiver is someone who:
· Works well in a supportive and collaborative environment.
· Can provide emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to patients.
· Can critically think and problem solve for patients’ best interests.
· Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
In this unit, you will learn, grow and develop:
· Caregivers develop transferrable skills with exposure to variety of patient diagnoses.
· Complete ONS Chemo/Bio course within 6 months – understanding chemo reactions and becoming an expert in this area.
· Work alongside physicians who are leaders in their specialty and experts in care.
In this unit, caregivers are also part of a supportive team:
· Leaders are eager to jump in when needed and bring positivity and cohesion with morning huddles.
· Patients are very appreciative of care they receive.
· Caregivers receive emotional support to grow.
