Role purpose

Shape the future of community impact at Vicinity

At Vicinity, we’re committed to creating places where communities thrive. As we deepen our long-term community ambition, we're looking for a passionate and strategic Community Investment Lead to design, shape and operationalise our emerging Community Investment (CI) agenda across our national portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up  executing the strategy and delivering the programs and partnerships that will meaningfully strengthen Vicinity’s connection with the communities we serve.

About the role

In this influential role, you will define the direction, scope and scale of Vicinity’s Community Investment strategy and translate it into a clear roadmap for delivery. You’ll lead program design, partner engagement, and the governance and measurement frameworks that will bring Vicinity’s community ambition to life.

Working closely with the Group Director C&AM, Sustainability & ESG, Brand & Marketing and Centre teams, you’ll ensure our community programs are aligned to Vicinity’s purpose, asset strategies, and the needs of our local communities.

  • Translate the CI “Brief” and “Program Concept” into a detailed roadmap for design, pilot and phased delivery through to FY27.

  • Develop fit for purpose program outlines aligned to priority focus areas and asset needs.

  • Identify and engage partners who can support delivery of Vicinity’s CI principles and program plan.

  • Build implementation plans for key programs, including timelines, roles, responsibilities and resource needs.

Governance, Reporting & Measurement

  • Establish clear reporting structures and governance parameters for the Community Investment program.

  • In partnership with the Sustainability & ESG team, define intended outcomes, KPIs and evaluation methodologies to measure impact.

Experience you bring

  • Experience in cross-sector stakeholder engagement, particularly across the corporate and community sectors.

  • Background designing frameworks, governance structures, reporting tools and evaluation methodologies.

  • Experience working within property, place-based development, or retail precinct environments.

Knowledge you hold

  • Strong understanding of community partnership and community engagement principles, program design and evaluation frameworks.

  • Awareness of centre level consumer, community and social behaviour dynamics.

Capabilities

  • Exceptional program management, communication and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence senior leaders.
