About the Company:

Octave is a modern behavioral health practice creating a new standard for care delivery that’s both high-quality and accessible. With in-person and virtual clinics in multiple states, the company offers evidence-based individual, couples, and family therapy, while pioneering relationships with payers to make care more affordable through insurance. By raising the bar on how care is delivered and how providers are supported, we are building a sustainable system that values equity, affordability, and effectiveness.

About the Role:

Octave is seeking a seasoned program manager to oversee an array of company-wide programs, stand up new operational capabilities, and ensure operational efficiency across our company. You will own projects from start to finish, working cross-functionally with our Clinical, Partnerships (Business Development), Operations, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to prioritize, develop, maintain, and continuously improve programs. As a strategic leader on the operations team you will help to develop new operational capabilities and drive operational efficiency,  providing the foundation for scaled growth. Your work will have a direct impact on people’s lives by scaling the availability and accessibility of quality mental health services, in line with Octave’s mission.

Responsibilities Include:

Lead high priority, complex programs end-to-end:

  • Lead multiple end-to-end programs that support Octave’s growth across the entire lifecycle including ideation, scoping, planning, execution, and results monitoring.
  • Help prioritize and drive internal alignment of key projects and strategic initiatives, understanding how they map to company priorities and the impact they will have.
  • Drive cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop creative solutions for some of the most complex issues in mental health today, including launching new payor relationships, expanding services to new states and improving care delivery models.
  • Design and implement communications strategies for initiatives, conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of performance, and ensure overall impact in relation to the program’s desired outcomes and company goals.
  • Own continuous improvement and explore new ideas during the course of each program to inform future opportunities.

Stand up new operational capabilities:

  • Support new system implementations, leading the selection, adoption, and optimization of new technologies and systems to enhance operational workflows and data management.
  • Drive the creation and implementation of innovative processes that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency across all program areas.
  • Develop strategic alliances and partnerships that can enhance Octave's operational capabilities and expand service offerings to clientele.
  • Architect and support the deployment of new service lines or product offerings, ensuring they are effectively integrated into the existing operational framework.

Drive operational efficiency and process improvement:

  • Lead process optimization initiatives to enable internal operations to scale with business needs.
  • Leverage data analytics and patient, provider, and partner feedback to enhance the efficiency of Octave’s operations.
  • Construct and implement frameworks that ensure new operational capabilities are scalable and adaptable to the growing needs of Octave.
  • Implement new technologies (e.g., AI, low code tools) in partnership with Product to optimize and automate patient onboarding, care navigation, and cross-team collaboration, among others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience: in program management, management consulting, and/or business operations. Experience in Healthcare preferred.
  • Ownership: Experience leading multi-disciplinary, cross-functional strategic operational initiatives from design through implementation.
  • Strategic operator: Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning and operational execution – able to get into the details without losing sight of the big picture – to help guide the efforts of all program stakeholders.
  • Organization: Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities aligned to short and long term objectives.
  • Strong communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experienced in working with and presenting to executive leadership.
  • Resourcefulness: Demonstrated ability to innovatively and efficiently navigate challenges, ensuring successful project execution within constrained environments.

Octave's Company Values:

The below values drive our day-to-day operations.

  • We’re human beings first. We operate with empathy and kindness – with our clients, with our collaborators, and with ourselves.
  • People deserve better than status quo. We’re willing to tackle the intractable problems, no matter how big, because someone should. We ask big questions, we craft big solutions, and we challenge ourselves and others to make it happen.
  • No bystanders. No stars. No tourists. Each person has been selected to be here, and with that comes a responsibility to bring your expertise, share your ideas, and help make this company better.
  • Partnership paves the path ahead. We don’t operate in a silo, internally or externally. To transform the system, we believe in working with others to create something bigger, better, and stronger.
  • Quality is crucial at scale. Quality is core to our business, and we refuse to sacrifice it as we grow.
  • Progress is a process. In the pursuit of progress, we iterate, reflect, learn, adjust – and always leave things better than we found them.
  • There are people behind every data point. We recognize that numbers tell only one part of the story, and we also do the work to understand impacts at the individual level.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently communicate with others through virtual meeting applications such as Zoom and Google Meet.
  • Must be able to observe and communicate information on company provided laptop.
