Reporting to: Finance Manager

Department: Finance

Purpose of the role:

This role will be supporting all aspects of the finance function.

You will be responsible for:

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare month-end journals and intercompany/intergroup billing calculations.
  • Prepare calculations for the capitalisation of internally developed assets (IAS 38)
  • Prepare monthly accruals and review postings made via the prepayment module.
  • Prepare income statement and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis (including commentary) to ensure all expenses have been classified correctly accurately posted.
  • Prepare supporting schedules required for group reporting.
  • Manage the fixed asset register (FAR to Navision, SNIPE IT to FAR, assets correctly captured) ensuring that assets are captured and depreciated in line with fixed asset policies, scrapping old assets and revisiting estimated useful lives.

Audits

  • Preparation and review of internal and external audit files.
  • Liaise with the internal and external auditors to ensure all queries resolved timeously.

VAT & Income Tax

  • Prepare the quarterly VAT reconciliation to NAV ensuring that the correct inputs have been claimed and all VAT output had been declared.
  • File quarterly returns and submit for payment before the due date.
  • Prepare monthly tax calculation and journal entry for review
  • Reconciliation of the VAT and tax vendor and matching to ensure submission and payments to the authorities have been timeously made.

Other

  • Ad hoc duties as may be required from time to time

You will have (Essential skills):

  • Finance degree, ACCA qualified or newly qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Minimum 3 years audit experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office, especially Excel
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Experience using accounting software
