About the Role:

As a Senior UX Architect, you will help our newsrooms enhance their platforms — including web, mobile, and newsletters — by leveraging your expertise in usability, information design, and information architecture to create and document comprehensive user experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about user-centric design and proficient with the tools and processes that bring it to life.

In this role you will move projects from concept to concrete solutions by optimizing experiences for our newsrooms, working with teams to conceptualize solutions, map user flows, implement information architecture, build prototypes for testing, and create wireframes and detailed functional specs. Your expertise should bring an understanding of modular design and design systems to contribute to a scalable, sustainable approach that enables speed to market, evolution, and optimization, especially as pertains to newsletters.

This will be a highly collaborative role requiring partnerships with SMEs, Editorial, UX Design, Engineering, Research, and Product.

The Senior UX Architect, Newsletters role will report to the Manager of User UXArchitecture, Publishing. It is a hybrid position based in our Barcelona office.

You Will:

  • Constructing newsletters according to technical limitations of email clients
  • Collaborate with our news rooms to understand and meet editorial goals, and ensure that editorial workload, dependencies, and sustainability are understood and factored in the solution to a project.
  • Bring a strong culture of Information Architecture to our publishing products, creating wholistic navigational solutions that encourage site exploration and connect brands
  • Think across multiple systems in order to solve cross-tool workflow issues

You Have:

  • Experience working with Design Systems
  • Experience working with Agile
  • Experience working with Figma
  • At least 3-5+ years experience in a similar role
  • Strong grasp of UI, HCI and UX principles
  • Understanding of best practices for mobile, web-based and responsive design
  • Experience in user and screen flows, conceptual and detailed wireframing, and prototyping tools
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates your experience and UX skills, illustrating step by step solutions for features
  • A portfolio that displays a clear examples of deliverables
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the design of News or Financial Services
  • Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and compliance
  • Knowledge of Services Design and Service Mapping
  • Experience with designing for CMS tools
