The Japan Partner Sales & Business Development team is part of Workday’s Global Partner Organization, which defines and develops our partner ecosystem, driving rapid and intentional change to adopt an open and modern ecosystem. We implement a unified global partner strategy, with cross-functional engagement in programs, systems, processes, and people. Our organization promotes partner innovation on top of and integration with Workday Products and Technology.

About the Role

Workday is building a world-class partner program focused on revenue growth, business outcomes, and innovation. As the Japan Payroll & ISV Partner GTM Lead, you will manage a portfolio of software and payroll partners to help our region achieve its growth objectives.

In this role, you will lead go-to-market initiatives to drive revenue growth through the recruitment, development, and enhancement of Payroll and ISV partnerships. You will develop joint business plans, build joint value propositions, establish executive sponsorship, lead partner education and enablement, and create joint market awareness.

The role requires familiarity with working across industries, knowledge of HCM, Payroll, and Financials business processes, strong executive relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills, familiarity with enterprise system integration methods, and the ability to collaborate successfully with cross-functional team members to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of software and payroll partners to meet Japan Business objectives by setting strategic direction, defining goals, and establishing clear business outcomes.

  • Identifying and establishing new software and payroll partnerships to support Japan’s growth objectives and ensure complete product/market fit. This includes managing the recruitment process, securing investments, and fostering executive relationships.

  • Defining, prioritizing, and leading Japan go-to-market activities in collaboration with marketing to drive awareness and demand for joint solutions.

  • Enabling partners with comprehensive knowledge about Workday, integration methods, and partner programs. Additionally, educating Workday sales teams on the benefits of these partners and how to effectively engage them to support and accelerate sales cycles.

  • Developing relationships across Workday product, industry, sales, and services to implement cross-functional partnership motions.

  • Collaborating on Workday Global Partner Organization initiatives to improve or expand the Workday Partner Program.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Human Capital Management, HR, Payroll, and/or Financials expertise

  • 5+ years of Alliances, Sales, and/or Business Development Experience, which would including developing and executing joint GTM plans with software or payroll partners aimed at driving pipeline and revenue growth.

  • Proficiency in both Japanese and English languages.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience working at an Enterprise SaaS organization.'

  • Local market knowledge of Japanese Payroll Requirements and Providers, ISVs which support the HCM and Financials Management space.

  • Knowledge of enterprise system integration methods, including APIs, file exchange, and iPaaS middleware solutions.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and excellent communication skills; Existing C-Level Relationships and/or a strong network and these types of prospective partner organizations highly desired.

  • Adaptable and resilient with experience in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic, a positive demeanor, and high energy.

  • Collaborative critical thinker, with a methodical approach and organizational skills to run parallel opportunities concurrently.

  • High level of integrity and a desire for high quality.
