A Day in the Life
In this dynamic role as a Field Service Specialist, you will be responsible for providing field service for the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) business, focusing on ablation technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical, leadership, and customer relation skills to support service and repair strategies for the CAS capital equipment portfolio. This position is field based, ideally located in Spain (Barcelona or Madrid), and the region of responsibility is Europe.
Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) offers a comprehensive range of electrophysiology solutions aimed at revolutionizing the market in cardiac mapping and ablation technologies for arrhythmia management. These solutions enable clinicians to treat patients more safely, quickly, and predictably. As the primary technical liaison for Medtronic CAS customers, the Field Service Specialist provides technical support to both the CAS Clinical Field and Sales teams. You will be responsible for the technical assessment, installation, support, servicing, and maintenance of the Affera mapping and ablation equipment. Collaboration with the Field Service team, Sales team, and departments such as Quality, Production, and Engineering is essential to ensure optimal resource coordination and feedback on product performance.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Perform site assessments, installations, inspections, verifications, corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure successful implementations of Affera equipment.
- Maintain and submit technical records as per regulatory requirements
- Input to technical knowledge base and dissemination of knowledge of our products to Sales and Clinical teams
- Input to service processes to ensure continual improvement and evolution of the Field Service organization. This includes the development and maintenance of Service documentation and procedures
- Participate in the development and delivery of technical training to our distributors, partners, agents and technically qualified representatives of customer base
- Facilitate the smooth transfer of new products into commercial launch by participating in all stages of the design transfer into commercial production
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in field engineering maintenance in medical devices, aerospace, or other highly regulated environments. (medical devices desirable)
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and technically diagnose medical equipment
- A strong working knowledge in English and Spanish (reading, conversation, and writing)
- Flexibility to travel frequently – the majority of the role will be traveling
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated, meticulous, demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
Experience in Electrophysiology/Cath Labs ideally with mapping/navigation system and ability to communicate in other languages like Italian, German or French will be a plus.
