Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to act as the Shipping Clerk for all daily outgoing shipments.  This includes, but is not limited to, boxing shipments, processing internal documents, customs forms, external documents and coordinating with transport companies. This is a part time position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Boxes, wraps and ships products
  • Prepares customs forms
  • Prepares freight bills
  • Keeps back room organized and clean
  • Keeps hall in front of shipping room clean
  • Keeps outside doors locked to prevent unauthorized visitors from entering the plant
  • Operates forklift
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management

In addition to shipping-related duties, it is a further responsibility of this position to cross-train in other logistics areas including receiving, stocking, warehouse, cycle counts, physical inventory, and shop errands. Other duties may be assigned by management. This position requires frequent use and knowledge in JD Edwards (JDE) and Precision primarily, but other programs may be necessary as well.

Credentials and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing shipping experience required
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Current forklift permit or ability to obtain one

Requirements

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Stand for up to 8 hours daily
  • Demonstrate eye-hand coordination

  • Efficiently transport materials within the work area
  • Demonstrate upper body mobility in order to move packages within the work area, reach packaging supplies, operate computer system, and lift objects weighing 15-50 lbs.
  • Bend as is necessary to lift from waist, knees, and neck to operate computer, type, carry packages, reach packaging supplies, and use packaging equipment
  • Manipulate papers and parts into packing materials; grasp, press, pull, write, type, and safely use sharp instruments to open boxes and cut materials
  • Push and pull objects and packages continually bending and manipulating hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, waist, back, and arms

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $46,700.00 - $70,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
