Job Description Summary:
This position assists with the Sports, Physical Activities and Recreation for Kids (S.P.A.R.K) program. Assists in preparing and implementing appropriate age specific activities for children 6-12 years of age. Activities include, but may not be limited to; art projects, fitness fun, sports skills and a variety of cooperative games. This position is responsible for the daily checking in/ out of each child in addition to supervising their participation in the program.Qualifications:
Current HS AED Certification required.
Minimum one (1) year experience working with children and youth preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Assists in preparing an implementing activities to include, but may not be limited to; art projects, fitness fun, sports skills and a variety of cooperative games.
Responsible for the daily checking in / out of each child in addition to overseeing their participation in the program.
Assists with implementation and monitoring of activities and programs for participants.
Develops new games and activities to be considered into daily lesson plans.
Monitors activity sessions as assigned, follows lesson plans, and makes adjustments as applicable to assigned area.
Recognizes when adjustments are required and creatively adapts activities to maintain participant’s enthusiasm.
Interacts with children during activities. Participates in games as required, and as opportunity arises.
Works closely with leadership and staff to ensure the safety of all children participating.
Treats participants with honesty and respect while maintaining established standards for control. Shows no partiality or favoritism toward any one or group of participants.
Interacts professionally with participants by utilizing children’s names and instills confidence regarding their ability to participate.
Keeps accurate count of program participants, activity, success/failure, discipline challenges, special participant needs, etc.
Creates an environment to grow holistically (socially, emotionally, physically, and environmentally).

Schedule: Hours vary due to school calendar year and need for coverage (after school program, summer break, etc.).
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
