Job Summary: 

The Supervisor, Inventory Control is responsible for providing oversight and leadership of inventory management and logistics execution across manufacturing and distribution operations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, material traceability, and disciplined inventory controls to support production schedules, customer commitments, and financial integrity.

Serving as a key cross‑functional partner and escalation point, the Lead Inventory Specialist drives inventory governance, system effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow, reduce risk, and enhance end‑to‑end supply chain performance. Occasional evening or weekend support may be required during physical inventory or critical operational events.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Own inventory management strategy and execution across manufacturing and distribution operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, material traceability, and alignment with production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Establish and govern inventory data integrity and reporting, defining standards, metrics, and controls to ensure accurate, timely, and decision‑ready inventory visibility across systems and locations.
  • Serve as the logistics coordination lead, proactively managing material flow, resolving supply disruptions, and partnering with Procurement and Logistics to mitigate risk and maintain continuity of operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across inventory and warehouse operations, applying lean principles and best practices to improve efficiency, reduce defects, and optimize space, labor, and material flow.
  • Design, implement, and maintain optimized warehouse layouts and storage standards, ensuring safe, scalable, and efficient material handling across all facilities.
  • Provide functional leadership to inventory and warehouse teams, including onboarding, training, coaching, and performance oversight, while reinforcing accountability and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, embedding controls, audits, and standard work to protect employees, inventory assets, and financial integrity.
  • Champion a safe and disciplined warehouse environment, proactively identifying risks, enforcing safety protocols, and driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered 4+ years of inventory management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in inventory management or logistics, preferably in renewable energy or manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory systems and ERP platforms (SAP or similar), with the ability to ensure data integrity and disciplined transaction execution.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret inventory data, identify trends, and support operational decision‑making.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous data and systems analysis experience.
  • Familiarity with SOX controls, inventory audits, or financial compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting multi‑site operations or third‑party logistics (3PL) environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple organizations in a fast paced, smaller company environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate across departments.
