Job Summary

As a recognized technical expert in high complexity modeling within Functional Safety strategy, system and innovation team, you develop the complex mathematical models for the embedded solutions at the edge. Your expertise in complex modelling, fuzzy logic, non-linear modeling heavily  contributes to improve the safety and availability of the systems of interest (automotive and industrial).

You work in close collaboration with other experts involved in innovation subjects (innovation focus tracks) as well as in product development (ie. HW and SW).

Responsibilities

  • Develop the complex mathematical models for various embedded systems (motor control, battery management system, robotics – fractional observers, LPV observer, sensorless control, Model predictive control (MPC) and fault detection (MPFD), etc…
  • Develop the complete Matlab/Simulink environment to ensure Model Based Design approach (MIL, SIL, PIL, HIL) – ie. Automatic SW code generation ISO26262 compliant
  • Support HW/SW integration and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing

Skills Required

  • Demonstrated expertise in high complex modeling – see below
  • Comfortable working with the ambiguity inherent in implementing new technologies, complex Functional Safety products
  • Proven ability to enroll technical stakeholders
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills towards technical contributors and stakeholders.

Experience

  • 10 years developing complex models for embedded systems – fuzzy logic, fractional observers, LPV observers, model predictive control and fault detection (MPC, MPFD), etc..
  • 5-10 years of experience in closed loop systems – ie. distributed compensation controller design, Nonconvex and convex optimizations, Saturated gain-scheduling LPV controller, memory resilient delay controller, etc…
  • 10 years of experience in Matlab / Simulink and Model Based Design  (10 years)
  • Experienced in Parameter-Dependent Stability Analysis, Orthogonal Polynomial functions, etc..
  • Familiar with Functional Safety, with a preference in IEC61508 and / or ISO26262
  • Recognized as a technical expert in his/her previous experiences

Education

Ph. D thesis in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with a focus an modeling of complex closed controlled embedded systems.
