MongoDB is seeking a highly motivated Director of Strategic Finance to lead a team of finance professionals. You will be responsible for driving key strategic financial initiatives and providing financial insights to support decision-making and drive the company’s growth. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of FP&A, sales, product, marketing and investor relations and work closely with the executive team.  

This will be a hybrid in-office role. We are looking for candidates who plan to be available in our New York City office for approximately 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to GTM leadership, including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams, providing data-driven insights and financial guidance to optimize revenue growth and achieve financial objectives
  • Collaborate with GTM executives, offering insights, driving strategic initiatives, and challenging the team to meet and exceed company goals
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team responsible for company's revenue model inclusive of the quarterly, annual, and long term revenue forecasting based on a variety of bottoms up and top down methods
  • Ownership of the company’s gross profit forecast, including forecasting infrastructure and services margins
  • Oversee and maintain detailed long-range plans, providing insights that support strategic decision-making
  • Partner with GTM, analytics, business operations and accounting to define, operationalize and manage KPIs and ensure consistency across teams
  • Collaborate with the entire FP&A team on creating and maintaining the consolidated company financial model
  • Develop and maintain scalable processes to enhance visibility into financial forecasts and performance, collaborating with teams across the business to maximize predictability
  • Drive special projects and conduct ad-hoc analyses to support decision making, including M&A, new products, markets, and other growth initiatives
  • Support investor relations efforts through competitive intelligence analysis, Q&A prep and creating materials for the annual investor day
  • Prepare presentations and analysis for executive leadership, Board of Directors and investors

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years in strategic finance, corporate finance and/or FP&A at a high growth company, with experience developing and scaling a finance team. Prior experience in investment banking or PE preferred
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, with the ability to develop and manage complex models and frameworks that can be leveraged to drive decision-making 
  • Strong analytical capabilities and business acumen with ability to apply rigorous logic to solve multi-facested problems
  • Demonstrated success in building strong working relationships with cross-functional business partners and leaders
  • Strong executive presence with proven ability to influence and effectively synthesize key findings and trends into actionable insights

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. $129,000$253,000 USD
