The Financial Risk Analyst is an intermediate-level professional responsible for coordinating, executing, and supporting functional processes related to investment systems, financial risk monitoring, and regulatory compliance within an AFORE environment. This role requires a solid understanding of financial instruments, financial risk concepts, and operational workflows across front, middle, and back office functions.

The individual contributes to the effective operation and continuous improvement of the investment ecosystem, with a particular focus on Aladdin and its integration with internal and external systems. This includes leading user acceptance testing, coordinating with technology teams and third-party providers, and ensuring data integrity across systems and reporting processes.

The position demands a good understanding of how different modules within investment platforms interact as well as how these systems support regulatory and business requirements. The analyst works closely with stakeholders across investment, risk, operations, and technology teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.

The role involves monitoring processes related to financial risk exposure, supporting limit control frameworks, and ensuring that regulatory processes are executed accurately and in a timely manner. The individual is also responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving production incidents through root cause analysis, contributing to process enhancements and risk mitigation.

Strong communication and coordination skills are required to effectively interact with local and global teams, facilitate issue resolution, and support ongoing system improvements. The role operates in a dynamic and complex environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy, control, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute testing for changes in investment platform and related systems
• Act as primary liaison with investment system enhancements and issue resolution.
• Support regulatory processes and audits aligned with AFORE requirements
• Monitor and validate data flows across systems and external providers.
• Analyze production incidents and perform root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
• Support financial risk monitoring, exposure measurement, and limit control processes.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity in risk and investment reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system improvements and process optimization initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in financial services (AFORE, asset management, risk, or middle office).
• Strong knowledge of Aladdin (BlackRock) and investment system workflows.
• Understanding of financial instruments, including derivatives.
• Knowledge of financial risk concepts and metrics.
• Familiarity with AFORE regulation and investment processes.
• Experience in testing, system implementations, or functional coordination.
• Advanced Excel skills (VBA is a plus),proficiency in MS Office tools and knowledge in Phyton.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in complex, multi-functional, and global environments.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Requisitos deseables:

• Certificación en materia de inversiones AFORE (BMV)
• Conocimiento de instrumentos financieros y parámetros de riesgos (riesgos de mercado, procesos de inversión de afore)
• Dominio de habilidades cuantitativas, lo que incluye la matemática necesaria para el cálculo y modelado de riesgos
• Debe tener iniciativa propia, ser flexible, innovador y adaptable
• Capacidad para trabajar de forma colaborativa con personas de todos los niveles de la organización
• Trabajar de forma colaborativa con socios regionales y globales en otras unidades funcionales
• Dominio de las aplicaciones de MS Office (Excel/VBA, Word, PowerPoint) y conocimiento en Python.
