About the Team and the Role

eBay’s Collectibles organization is one of the most dynamic and fast-evolving areas of our business. It brings together passionate communities of buyers and sellers across many outstanding categories, including trading cards, arts & antiques, coins, and collectible toys.

We are seeking a Sr. Category Manager Collectibles to take end-to-end responsibility for one or more key categories within the portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for the performance and development of your category – shaping strategy, setting priorities, and driving initiatives that directly impact results.

In this position, you work alongside seller-facing teams and other groups to convert opportunities into results. The role requires operating globally and coordinating with international peers on matters outside your local region. It combines methodical problem-solving with direct involvement in essential commercial aspects of the company.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Own end-to-end category performance, with full accountability for commercial outcomes (e.g., GMB, selection quality, competitive positioning)

  • Set and evolve category strategy, translating market trends, buyer behavior, and seller insights into clear priorities and growth plans

  • Identify and prioritize the highest-impact opportunities, and lead cross-functional execution to deliver measurable business impact

  • Use data and market intelligence to diagnose performance drivers, challenge assumptions, and steer category direction

  • Shape seller strategy in close partnership with account management, leveraging insights from key sellers and engaging directly at industry events (e.g., trade shows) to inform category decisions

  • Collaborate with seller-facing teams and cross-functional partners (product, marketing, finance) to align on priorities, unlock opportunities, and remove barriers to growth

What You Will Bring

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of relevant experience in category management, e-commerce, or commercial roles

  • Proven track record of owning and growing a category or business area with measurable commercial impact

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approach and clear bias for action and tangible results

  • Ability to translate strategy into execution and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working cross-functionally and influencing diverse stakeholders (internal & external)

  • Ability to operate independently, set direction, and manage multiple priorities using data-driven decision-making

  • Proficient in German and English
