POSITION:                                           GMS Systems Analyst Sr.

WORKSITE:                                         800 Airport Road, Taylor, Texas, 76574, United States

May partial telecommute from within the State of Texas.

OFFERED WAGE:                               $120,162.00 per year

JOB DUTIES:                                      

Perform system maintenance and improve activities to support the effectiveness of the Energy Management Systems (EMS). Participate in planning and evaluating the impact of system modifications and maintenance activities. Maximize EMS uptime and mitigate system failures. Utilize his technical and theoretical engineering knowledge to analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve the Energy Management and Market Systems. Review computer systems capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations. Design systems solutions to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively. Provide technical support for both EMS and Market Systems. Integrate applications, build code, monitor, and maintain the Energy Management and Market Systems and derived systems. Assist and support the troubleshooting of technical problems that result from data communications, equipment, or systems failures. Provide technical support for EMS-related issues including State Estimator 9SE) and associated Network Applications (real-time contingency analysis, Dispatcher Load Flow, etc.). Provide recommendations regarding issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices. Exercise latitude in decision-making within assignments, programs, and projects. Act as a resource to advise and lead the work of lower-level professionals and/or support employees. Represent the department on projects and will perform a leadership role.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:                Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:               Five (5) years of experience as Systems or Software Engineer or Developer, Project Engineer or Project Manager, or Systems Analyst.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:             The required five (5) years of work experience as Systems or Software Engineer or Developer, Project Engineer or Project Manager, or Systems Analyst must have involved development, implementation, and maintenance of Energy Management Systems (EMS) / SCADA applications for the electric utility industry.
