Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Float between Winston-Salem and High Point Behavioral Clinics.

Pay Range

$22.90 - $34.35

Essential Functions

Clinical Support & Health Outcomes

  • Prepare for patient visits through proactive chart preparation and manage efficient patient flow.
  • Perform clinical tests/procedures as ordered and track results, alerting providers to abnormal or delayed findings.
  • Accurately collect and label specimens per laboratory guidelines and maintain CLIA‑required quality control logs.
  • Administer medications as ordered; communicate with pharmacies for refills per protocol.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation including chief complaint, vitals, history, immunizations, medications, and procedures.
  • Provide patient education and discharge instructions per provider direction.
  • Assist patients in obtaining additional services before they leave the clinic; ensure continuity of care across providers and departments.
  • Support AMG Clinical Integration goals by ensuring complete and accurate data, registries, flowsheets, and test tracking.

Patient Satisfaction & Service Excellence

  • Demonstrate respect, empathy, and cultural sensitivity with patients and families.
  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance patient satisfaction and provider/associate engagement.
  • Help create a patient‑centered environment through timely appointments, appropriate referrals, and responsive communication.
  • Maintain a professional image and adhere to Advocate Behaviors of Excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with associates and providers to resolve patient concerns effectively.

Health Information Management (HIM) & HIPAA Compliance

  • Maintain complete, accurate medical records through proper scanning, filing, and form utilization.
  • Participate in medical record audits and indicator development.
  • Ensure diagnostic reports and records are available at the start of each visit.
  • Obtain proper release‑of‑information documentation and protect patient privacy in all communications.
  • Dispose of identifiable patient information securely.

Risk Management & Safety

  • Follow infection control, OSHA, and accreditation standards consistently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area aligned with AMG Operating System standards.
  • Participate in safety drills; know the location of emergency equipment.
  • Promote a culture of safety by identifying risks, reporting safety events, and assisting with corrective actions.

Funding Our Future (Operational Efficiency)

  • Ensure accurate order completion, documentation, and charge capture.
  • Collaborate with providers and billing teams to support proper coding.
  • Maintain inventory par levels and responsible use of standard supplies.
  • Support organizational sustainability efforts through recycling and resource stewardship.
  • Utilize resources effectively to support revenue and expense management goals.

Professional Growth & Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of care standards and participate in continuing education.
  • Complete annual competency reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the clinic.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of a medical assistant program or at least one year of medical assistant or equivalent clinical experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and keyboarding.
  • Familiarity with ambulatory care equipment and procedures.
  • Current AHA CPR certification required.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required.
    • Non‑certified MAs must obtain certification/registration within 1 year of hire through AMG‑approved bodies.
