We are offering a Fast-Track Graduate Program for Automation Data Engineers in Europe, starting in September 2024.

The 6-month program is aimed at ambitious new graduates looking for an exciting career in the semiconductor industry. In this role you will have the potential to accelerate your career and acquire an insight into different areas, whilst building a valuable international network. Upon completion of your training, you will be in either Grenoble (France), Agrate Brianza (Italy), Dresden (Germany) or Kildare (Ireland) which are vibrant hubs for the semiconductor industry in Europe.

An Applied Materials Automation Data Engineer stands for:

Our Automation Data Engineers (also known as Aix Engineers) act as a support function to our Field Service Engineer. They are the interface between the Field Service team and the Digital Tools Enablement organization. Here is a idea of what you will do as an Aix Engineer:

  • Assess, maintain, and troubleshoot tool connections and improve data reliability and readability.
  • Perform data analytics on equipment sensor signals, analyzes trends in dialog with the field Hardware and Process Engineers to accelerate troubleshooting.
  • Provide analytical data visualization to the service team and ensure use of the latest predictive models.
  • Design, test and deploy new models and algorithms to “understand/predict” the equipment behavior behind the data by using direct inputs from our field service experts.

Our Trainee Program includes:

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge transfer, as well as international placements at our newest production sites in Asia and Europe.
  • Training on-the-job and guided tasks to gain experience. Supported by a local buddy, team colleagues, and managers.
  • Long-term work opportunities at our European sites with potential development opportunities in various specialisms.

We are looking for you if:

  • You are graduating, or have recently graduated, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Information Systems or related field
  • Hold an advanced level of English (headquarter is in the US) together with a proficient level of either French, German or Italian.
  • You are an EU Citizen or have the right to live and work in France/Italy/Ireland/Germany.
  • You are flexible to travel for work (no more than 10% of the time) and training.

Your mindset is important:

  • Project management skills and mindset to be successful in coordinating & collaborating across functions.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a building trust nature.
  • Exercise judgement based on data analysis of multiple sources of information like plant documentations, schematics, and hardware data.
  • Find solutions with different tools to get the machine running again.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus.
