Protiviti Government Services is looking for a Vice President to join our growing Public Sector Business Development team. This role is focused on State and Local Government as well as Education (SLED) sales. Success will come from both Prime contracts and Subcontracting relationships – the ability to identify and develop Government Contracting partners to grow revenue is critical.

As a Business Development Vice President you will initiate, qualify, and develop new business with prospective clients to meet or exceed pre-agreed-upon revenue goals. You will generate new business opportunities for Protiviti across assigned targeted customers leveraging the capabilities of all Protiviti solutions. This role also includes organizing and executing a multifaceted revenue plan, including phone, fax, email, and mail campaigns, to effectively make direct contact with prospects. You will lead the coordination of presentations of Protiviti products and services, meet in person with potential clients, and build and sustain a robust set of professional relationships. You will also be expected to build and develop a pool of government contracting firms that could enable opportunity pursuits as a subcontractor to them or supporting a Prime effort of ours.
You will also collaborate internally with Protiviti and Talent Solutions personnel to leverage their expertise and their contacts/opportunities to drive SLED sales success.
You enjoy developing and executing multi-faceted pursuit plans to drive revenue for many different solutions.
You are motivated to analyze opportunities to target and pursue to maximize significant revenue growth for the enterprise. This includes meeting a substantial revenue target per year and using our sales tracking database to record and track opportunities.
You are passionate about building relationships with region, industry, and solution Executive leaders to maximize solution-selling opportunities.
You have an inherent interest in networking with industry groups, previous clients/colleagues, and with alliances to further develop a personal and professional network.
You effectively build collaborative relationships with the key decision-makers within prospective clients, in addition to maintaining a robust contact list on LinkedIn.
You collaboratively identify applicable events to invite target audiences to attend, as well as identifying the appropriate thought leadership for target audiences.
You excel at identifying winning account strategies by understanding the client’s business issues, risks, and problems and creating opportunities for Protiviti to offer our solutions to address these client needs.
You have interest in working with diverse teams, including developing a strong understanding of all enterprise solutions at Robert Half and Protiviti by attending trainings and meetings.
You are knowledgeable in pricing strategy to ensure firm proposals are competitive.
You enjoy executing events and other outreach campaigns to identify and engage targets and build the Protiviti brand in the marketplace.
Track record of winning consulting services contracts with State and Local Governments as well as Education.
Ability to build new relationships and close new revenue opportunities with executive-level buyers.
Ability to negotiate and present at the executive level.
Strong knowledge of the target markets.
Good business acumen with excellent revenue generation and negotiation skills.
Strong track record of collaborating effectively internally and externally.
Ability to build teaming partnerships with Government Contracting firms.
Ability to manage projects; good organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to foresee the market potential and develop strategies to grow the business.
Strong written, oral, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant academic area or equivalent relevant work experience.
7+ years working in business development/revenue generation, preferably in professional services and/or complex solutions selling environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
Protiviti operates in a hybrid environment. Travel can occur throughout the month based upon client requests/commitments. Travel may include suburban, regional, or out of state locations.
