Within our Johnson Controls Data Center Solutions group, Silent-Aire designs, engineers, and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions, and it is built on the foundation that you must be agile, fast, and work as a team to succeed. What you will do
Demonstrating your extensive knowledge of engineering principles, you will design, develop, and test mechanical components, and equipment of our AHU (air handling units) and MDC (modular data center products).
Design product assembly lines with Production coordinators (PCs)/engineering; ensure all associated admin work is addressed in advance of the construction kick off; scheduling, station setups (BOMs, fab parts, consumables), subassembly design and layout, plant layouts, rough cycle times, takt time calculations, preliminary line balancing (ongoing balance).
Liaison between engineering and production on all projects; transfer of knowledge and acting as a bridge between engineering department, Project Managers, and Production Supervisors, ensuring all around effective communication.
Construction kick-off planning, ensuring all items on the kick-off agenda are addressed well before the kick-off is slated to happen, safety, schedule creation, personal drawing review, drawings are distributed to appropriate production personnel for review.
Partner with the Continuous Improvement (CI) team as an engineering presence; product research, construction drawing coordination, design calculations/drawing semblance and review, ROIs, and more.

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or other related field of study
3+ years of related manufacturing engineering experience in metal fabrication and/or welding
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and/or Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Self-driven with ability to take initiative in project execution
