About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a. Technology Director to join the Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) Group. The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are purpose built to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

This role leads Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Technology and operating support across the firm. The leader brings deep expertise in the risk management domain, assessing policies, controls, and regulatory expectations while designing and implementing technology solutions that automate and simplify compliance workflows. The role focuses on modernizing the operating environment to reduce cost, increase automation, and strengthen ongoing regulatory compliance. The position regularly engages with executive leadership, proposing credible, domain‑informed technical strategies, and oversees delivery through a large-scale engineering organization.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads

  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities

  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders

  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans

  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices

  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers

  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing

  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives

  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent

  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation

  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers

  • Lead team to achieve objectives

  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading GRC Technology Platform Organizations

  • Experience with Enterprise Cloud Platforms (Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud)

  • Familiarity with Technology Governance Issues Management processes and Risk Mitigation

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
