Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Private Banking Associate to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working on-site at our Walnut Creek, CA office.
The Private Banking Associate is responsible for supporting the daily operations of all private banking services by overseeing daily processes, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining a high level of client service. This position supports the Private Banking Operations Manager in delivering seamless support to clients and internal stakeholders while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Responsible for collaborating with relationship managers and other internal partners and also working with clients to address inquires and resolve issues/requests.
What you will be doing:
Oversea daily operations related to private banking services, including account opening and maintenance, transaction processing, and documentation review.
Monitor workflows to ensure timely and accurate execution of client requests. Address complex client inquiries and resolve escalations in a professional and timely manner.
Collaborate with relationship managers to enhance the overall client experience. Able to refer clients to relationship managers under bank wide incentive comp plan. Ensure all operations comply with internal policies, regulatory standards, and risk management practices.
Analyze existing operational workflows and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy. Assist in the implementation of new procedures to streamline operations. Conduct periodic reviews of processes to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Prepare regular reports on operational performance and client service metrics. Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications in line with organizational standards.
Manage daily workflow of shared private banking / wealth management inbox and client / internal partner requests:
Join calls/meetings regarding prospective clients. Provide support for client recognition activities. Assist Relationship Managers with event preparation.
Who you are:
4 year Bachelor's Degree preferred, but additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
5 years of banking/private banking is required.
Branch Management experience is highly preferred.
Superior sales, sales management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Proven performance in managing branch operations and compliance tasks .
Strong knowledge of private banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
High skill in attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with quick turnaround and tight timeframes.

Salary Range: $70,000-100,000 annually
Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
