SUMMARY

The Manager of Site Merchandising is part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team responsible for delivering a best-in-class eCommerce experience for JOANN. The primary responsibility is to manage the merchandise presentation on JOANN.com. This e-Commerce-based role leads customer insights and analytics with merchandising, taxonomy, and attribution strategies to satisfy customer intent, while maximizing business results. This role is responsible for the product alignment, organization, categorization, and taxonomy for the shopping experience on the website. This includes images, videos, attribution, SEO opportunities, and product titles. The main objective will be driving increases in conversion and other KPIs as determined collaborating with the eCommerce Merchants to understand the product strategies and creating an action plan to bring their categories to life on the website. This role will lead newly implemented technologies around customer behavior on site, with the focus on understanding how this behavior translates to revenue.

In this role you will think like a merchant and be proficient in eCommerce business systems with a fearless obsession to always put the customer experience first. This position is data oriented as they will oversee many SKUs. Organization, attention to detail and advanced excel skills are required.

JOB DUTIES

  • Manage the strategy and long-term road map for merchandise presentations on JOANN.com that strategically drive sales, average order size and conversion while promoting the JOANN brand. This includes taxonomy, categorization, attributes, imagery, copy, sorting and enhanced selling content such as collection shopping, guides, and videos.
  • Directly supervise the work of the entire Site Merchandising team as it relates to workload, priorities, career development, and focus of assignments.
  • Evaluate web journeys through path to purchase, on site engagement and how the customer is shopping the site, through entry, clicks, and checkout.
  • Continually enriching descriptions and ensuring product standards are maintained.
  • Ongoing optimization for how we execute the New Goods launch process while to work smarter and deliver results. Analyze and report current workflow status and work cross functionally to ensure deadlines are met.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage a team of eCommerce specialists including performance management and feedback.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree with a major in: Business, Business Management, Merchandising, Marketing, or Communications

Experience Minimum: 6+ years of retail experience in eCommerce, Omni-Channel, Merchandising or Marketing, & Analytics

Experience Preferred: 8+ years of experience in retail in an eCommerce or Omni-Channel role focused on web content, user experience or website merchandising. 5+ years supervisory experience. Analytical training, forecasting, P&L Management, experience developing pricing & promotional plans, experience with a Big Box Retailer, experience working with and leading vendor partnerships.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This role requires in-person attendance 4 days a week at the Store Support Center (SSC) located in Hudson, OH. Flexibility to work remotely when requested is determined by management and business needs.
  • Some light travel, less than 10% will be required.
  • Sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity.
  • Move around an office space and between buildings on a large campus, including reaching for files, retail product, supplies, or equipment, as well as the ability to adapt to various workstation setups.
  • Work standard business hours and extended hours as needed based on task and project demands.
  • Utilization of all communication styles - written, verbal, electronic options.
  • Lift and carry office supplies, documents, retail product or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds as needed for tasks such as organizing or setting up workstations.
