Responsibilities

• Identify and automate repetitive tasks using robust, well-tested scripts and pipelines.

• Detection Engineering & fine‑tuning: Write detections (queries, rules, analytics) and automated responders/playbooks; continuously tune based on telemetry and outcomes.

• Assess and enhance security posture: Conduct vulnerability assessments; implement optimised solutions and control checks (e.g., configuration drift, policy compliance).

• POC of new tools: Lead evaluations; prototype integration scripts/connectors to validate insights and process maturity.

• Upskilling: Maintain currency in security frameworks, and security platforms aligned to objectives.

• Reduce tooling failure and downtime: Define and maintain health checks, instrumentation, and recovery procedure to improve reliability.

• Control domain enhancement & maturity: Build guardrails and continuous validation for key control domains.

• Collaboration: Partner with Security Operations, Platform, and DevOps teams; on best practices.
   

Mandate

• Embrace AI: Must have exposure to AI usage to mature the day today tasks.

• 5–8+ years in Engineering/Operations with demonstrable scripting-led automation outcomes.

• Proven record creating SOAR playbooks, automated responders, and detection content.

• Strong understanding of security architecture, controls, and operational resilience.

• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.

• Scripting (must-have): Exposure to Python for automation, data parsing/enrichment, API integrations, and SOAR playbooks; PowerShell for Windows endpoint/identity orchestration and platform automation; Bash for Linux/Unix automation, pipelines

• Detection Engineering & IR: Open to lean SIEM query languages (e.g., KQL, YARA-L), and experience of defining alert logic, tuning, and response automation.

• Version Control & CICD: understanding of DevOps workflows; exposure to CI-CD pipelines

• Security Platforms: Exposure with SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, vulnerability management, and threat intel enrichment.

• Good to have –

• Cloud & Container Security: Fundamentals of Controls Security and controls.

• APIs & Integrations: Experience working with APIs
