Our Small Business Banking team is passionate about helping Australian small businesses thrive. We take the time to understand the business and personal goals of our customers and partner with them using deep expertise and specialist support to deliver tailored financial solutions.

Small Business Banking sits within CommBank Business Banking and provides both face-to-face and remote support to small businesses across Australia. In this role, you’ll lead a team of Business Bankers across Chermside, Virginia, North Lakes, Nambour, Caloundra, Maroochydore, Noosa, Bundaberg and Rockhampton.

The role is based in the Brisbane CBD and requires regular travel to branch locations.

Do work that matters

As Executive Manager, you will lead the financial, customer and risk performance of the Brisbane North, Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Small Business Region. You will be accountable for leading and developing a team of Small Business Bankers, ensuring they have the capability, confidence and support to meet the full range of business customer needs - including credit origination up to $1.25m.

As a senior leader within the broader Small Business leadership group, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, driving performance and contributing to the overall success of the Small Business portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the successful execution of Business Banking strategic initiatives across the region

  • Build a high-performing, customer-centric culture that delivers strong customer experiences and long-term relationships

  • Recruit, develop and retain talented Business Bankers, fostering high engagement and capability across geographically dispersed teams

  • Deliver strong customer advocacy, financial performance and balanced risk outcomes

  • Partner closely with Customer Service Network (Branch) leaders and other key stakeholders to drive regional performance

  • Proactively manage risk by ensuring high-quality data and adherence to regulatory and compliance obligations, including AML/KYC

We’d love to hear from you if you bring:

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience and readiness to step into a senior regional leadership role

  • Strong commercial lending experience

  • Experience operating in a high-volume, fast-paced customer environment

  • A proven track record of delivering strong financial and customer outcomes

  • The ability to build a risk-aware culture and proactively manage financial and non-financial risk

  • A degree in finance or a business-related discipline (strongly preferred)

  • CAA and FRSA Tier 2 Accreditation
