General Notes

Prefer candidates who can begin work as early as April 15 and continue through May and the summer. Candidates should be available to work between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. During the spring semester, students may work up to 20 hours per week. During the summer, students may work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on their course load. The work location is on the University of Texas at Austin campus.

Applicants must be currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin and authorized to work in the United States. This position is security sensitive. A three‑year driving record check and a criminal background check will be conducted on the selected candidate. Hiring decision is contingent upon applicant clearing checks.

Purpose

Assist College of Natural Sciences facilities team to complete daily facilities tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist CNS facilities team to install/remove furniture and equipment in CNS buildings and assist facility staff with miscellaneous daily tasks.

  • Assist with unloading and delivery of CNS shipments.

  • Assist with small projects such as clearing unused offices/rooms and documenting (measure/photograph) project spaces.

  • Assist with completion of annual facilities space audits.

  • Other related responsibilities and functions as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed community college or university coursework in business management, science, engineering, technology, mathematics, construction, or project management.

  • Experience producing professional communication documents using word processing software.

  • Proficient (3+ years of experience) with Microsoft 365, Adobe, and/or Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, ProE)

Salary Range

$13.00 per hour

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of computer equipment.

  • Reasonable lifting and moving.

  • Climbing of stairs

Work Shift

Work performed on-site during regular business hours between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
