 The Role

There is no better way to experience what a career at MarketAxess has to offer than through our internship programme. As a 2025 Summer intern with MarketAxess, you will grow your skills through on-the-job training and professional development classroom training. You will participate in projects working on problems, providing community service and enjoying social events. You will be well supported, receiving regular feedback from your manager to aid your professional development and will have a dedicated buddy. Our summer internship programme offers the opportunity to build new skills, grow your professional network and provides an in-depth insight into career possibilities at MarketAxess.

This is a full-time paid internship to commence on 2 June and concludes on 1 August 2024

How You’ll Take Us There  

Our Technology Summer Internship Programme, for penultimate year university students, is a pipeline into our Technology Graduate Programme. It has been crafted to simulate our Technology Graduate Programme so that you can understand what a career in technology at MarketAxess would really be like.

General Responsibilities Include:

  • Understand agile process
  • Understand business requirements
  • Participate in software design
  • Provide time estimates
  • Write code and unit tests
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Fix any bugs and demo to the stakeholders

What We’re Looking for 

  • Penultimate year student graduating in 2026
  • Right to Work in the location you are applying
  • Good understanding of various data structures and algorithms
  • Well-versed in modern application design paradigms and patterns
  • Experience in development/willingness to learn Java and Java based server-side frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Understanding of browser-based technologies/willingness to learn (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, AngularJS, AJAX).
  • Curiosity/interest related to cloud technologies and cloud design patterns (AWS)
  • Basic knowledge of enterprise RDBMS such as Oracle, Sybase or SQL Server
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational and problem resolution skills
  • Team player and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function well in a competitive, challenging environment, and the ability to deal with changing priorities
  • Individuals who can connect the dots and think creatively
  • You should be interested in financial markets and how technology supports our business
