Job Summary:

This is an internship position within the Information Technology department at Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc. As an intern, you will work collaboratively with a team on a variety of information technology–related projects and actively participate with fellow colleagues. The internship runs for approximately 26 weeks and requires a 20-hour weekly commitment, with scheduled workdays on either Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday. Also will have to pass a drug test and background check. Interns are expected to maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance that reflects the standards and values of the organization. Attire should be business-casual, as appropriate to the role and work environment.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Participate in information technology projects as assigned by the IT Service Desk Supervisor.
  • Participate in skills workshops as assigned by the IT Service Desk Supervisor.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and applicable legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance in accordance with Goodwill's attendance policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Service Desk Supervisor.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Will be required to drive to multiple locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency with current computer technology and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to learn new software as needed to complete projects and assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to coordinate and schedule multiple activities, projects and work schedules.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills with attention to detail.
