Position: Principal Engineer, Machine Learning (Dallas, Texas)

Duties: Design, train, and port Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) models for resource-constrained devices using the PyTorch framework and CUDA-based training hardware. Adapt existing models and devise specialized solutions as needed. Develop software in C and optimize digital signal processing algorithms for resource-constrained embedded microcontrollers. Design and execute protocols for data collection for deep learning, and apply collected datasets, including computer vision, computer audio, and condition-based monitoring of machines. Conduct research on novel aspects of AI, submit them for publication in scientific papers, and present research internally and/or publicly in scientific and industry conferences. Develop embedded AI accelerators through deep learning and machine learning (“ML”), and design and implementation of custom adaptations of the PyTorch and TensorFlow public machine learning frameworks. Collaborate with in-house and customer researchers and engineers to align with corporate business goals. Lead or contribute to creating novel algorithms and models, as well as implementing algorithms on current or future Analog Devices hardware, including efforts to optimize hardware design. Partial telecommute benefit (2 days WFH).

Requirements: PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience in experience designing and implementing energy-efficient edge AI models and publications in this field, or, alternatively, a Master's  degree in Electrical Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience designing and implementing energy-efficient edge AI models and publications in this field. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise (DE) designing and implementing custom deep learning models for audio, vision, and temporal data on resource-constrained devices using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras; DE developing and implementing advanced edge AI training techniques, e.g., quantization, knowledge distillation, and neural architecture search for MAX7800X embedded architecture; DE deploying and optimizing Machine Learning models to edge devices, leveraging programming languages like C/C++ and Java, and utilizing deployment frameworks including PyTorch Mobile, ONNX Runtime, Arm NN, and CMSIS-NN; DE pioneering edge AI research, authoring academic papers in the tiny machine learning domain, and presenting findings at relevant academic and industry events; DE developing and implementing biomedical algorithms using MATLAB or Python; and DE designing experiments for the collection of regulated sensitive data. Salary:  $184,000.00 - $276,000.00/year
