Licenses and Certifications
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) required and maintained in good standing.
Experience
At least one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant in a supervised clinical setting required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, clinical procedures, and diagnostic testing.
Strong interpersonal and patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the care team.
Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting efficient clinic operations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Sound judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with electronic health records and standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
