Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. IPSD Large Engines seeks an Accounting Associate in Seguin, TX to support Machine Shop operations. In this position, you will play a critical role supporting our three facilities in South-Central Texas (Seguin, Schertz and San Antonio). What You Will Do:

  • Financial analysis & monthly reporting of results for Machine Shop Operations
  • Presentation and explanation of results to Operations Leadership
  • Provide budget scenarios as needed based on changing business conditions for Machine Shop Operations
    • Quarterly forecast process (RBM)
    • Annual Business Plan (ABP)
  • Determine Internal Rate of Return and NPV for high complexity projects
  • Support the Normals product cost process for machined components produced in Texas
  • Support the reporting of Abnormals for product cost rates
  • Use of business systems/tools including, but not limited to Axiom, Power BI and Tableau

What You Have:

  • Education/ Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. 
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving:  Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Prior experience with or willingness to learn new tools such as Alteryx, Axiom, Power BI, Tableau, etc
