What would you do? Enterprise Usage Collection operations require a specific skillset having a mix bag of Switching Engineer and Support Analyst for Applications and System Engineering related activities. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position. This is a great opportunity for those in the telecommunications industry
Education Qualifications/Work Experience-
• Bachelor s degree in Telecommunication or Electronics & Communication
• Must have worked in a team of 5-10 team members with 24x7 environment
• Minimum 2-10 years experience in Switch Engineering role
• Previous experience working in BSS – Mediation in Telecom Industry will be an added advantage
Responsibilities/Accountability/Authorities;
• To perform monitoring & troubleshooting and resolve errors related to missing data due to network elements being out of sync and ensure Switch offices get polled correctly and CDR’s flow to downstream systems.
• Perform thorough Troubleshooting on all errors in minimum time
• Collect usage records from the network and make sure such usage is accurately captured on the bill
• Provide input in an investigation of issues and raising various tickets for system down (networking) which are being transferred from different referrals.
Mandatory Skills/Expertise:
• Needs detailed knowledge of Telecom Architecture, Call Flow routing procedures & CDR format, and conversion
• Needs practical knowledge of working on alarms and daily O&M activities including Ticketing methods and procedures.
• Needs understanding of data tables and various feeds/troubleshooting required to ensure Downstream systems are perfectly in sync with CDR’s booked at Upstream.
• Needs to understand Ticketing Systems and ensure TAT’s and AHT’s for each ticket by constantly monitoring and collaboration with multiple teams.
• Needs to provide 24/7 support / Always on-call support.
• Knowledge of Unix commands for performance, configuration, scripting, troubleshooting & commands to test connectivity
• Hands-on working knowledge of Impact Analysis / Application UAT / Signoff and Deployment
What are we looking for? Needs complete awareness of Local Number Portability and related tables along with NPA-NXX routing/exceptions & Porting Activations
• Solving data-related queries and business queries on reported data for client satisfaction.
• Check the functionality and work on the creation of test setup and test plan for the same.
• Planning and execution of annual DR activity. Supports the processing programs of low complexity to ensure accurate documentation of requirements (database copies).
• Ability to handle critical situations and manage complexity / Thorough troubleshooting skills
• Exceptional Analytical Skills / Effective communication and presentations skills
• Ownership of Business Deliverables
• Strong planning, Critical Thinking & Creative problem-solving skills.
• Needs good interpersonal and Teamwork related soft-skills.
Technical Skillsets preferred
Programming Languages: PL/SQL, UNIX Shell Scripting
Front End Tools: Toad, Putty.
Operating Systems: MS-DOS, UNIX
Database knowledge: Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MS Access - will be a plus
