As a SQL Database Developer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our product database. Your responsibilities will encompass managing product attribute information, pricing, and lead time data within our database systems. Additionally, you’ll ensure the cleanliness and optimal functionality of the database. You will collaborate directly with a small team of web developers within the Marketing/Communications dept., as well as interact with Thomson engineers and product owners in the broader company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create stable, reliable, and effective databases that align with the company’s needs.
Optimize and maintain existing legacy systems to ensure smooth operations.
Modify databases based on requests and perform thorough testing.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within the product database.
Regularly validate and verify product attribute information, pricing, and lead time data.
Implement data quality control initiatives to maintain high-quality data.
Monitor database performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with developers to enhance applications and establish best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve database usage issues and malfunctions promptly.
Work closely with the development team to ensure system consistency.
Communicate effectively with other internal stakeholders, including product line managers, product line specialists, and engineering associates.
Provide technical support to users regarding database-related queries.
Develop technical manuals and training materials for database management.
Ensure all database programs meet company standards and performance requirements for product information delivery through our external website.
Stay informed about new database products, services, and protocols.
Suggest improvements and innovations to enhance the database infrastructure.
