We are hiring a SCM Data Advisor to support planning activities within SCM, and coordinate and manage various key step-change enterprise-wide projects aimed at improving Supply Chain end to end processes and technology. This includes end-to-end planning, execution, change management and closing projects and initiatives. This role will offer opportunities to demonstrate horizontal and informal leadership skills working with a cross-functional team within and outside of SCM.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years or relevant work experience in project management, planning or related domains with an understanding of project best practices, planning tools and proven success in collaborating cross functionally
  • Experience in developing business cases, evaluating initiatives using return on investment metrics, and developing project charters and project execution plans
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes and how these processes impact/support business requirements at operating sites
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding in planning activities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, stakeholders, and suppliers as required
  • Ability to evaluate risks, balance risks with business objectives and make recommendations that are objective, practical, technically appropriate and commercially feasible
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work in a demanding and complex environment
     

Responsibilities:

  • Actively coordinate and/or manage new projects and programs identified to support Supply Chain’s continuous improvement objectives
  • Interface and work with employees and leaders at various levels including senior leaders within SCM and cross functionally
  • Support and/or lead key planning activities for Supply Chain Management and identify any continuous improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for all deliverables to support the projects/ continuous improvement initiatives, including charter, business case, project execution plan, change management plan, and communication plan
  • Opportunity to informally lead cross-functional teams which may include Process Specialists, Subject Matter Experts, implementation leads, business stakeholders etc
  • Ensure compliance to the project execution strategies, project execution plan, procedures and governance structure for the assigned projects
  • Develop a sustainment plan for all future business processes to ensure their repeatability and reliability
  • Lead regular meetings with the project team to ensure the project is meeting its intended deliverables, evaluate business unit requirements, communicate expectations and evaluate process optimization opportunities
  • Maintain effective communication and positive collaborative relations with key stakeholders
  • Capture and prepare stewardship reports by project and by Program and provide succinct, accurate, comprehensive, understandable and timely information to Supply Chain leaders
  • Manage intake process for various requested initiatives and support the team in prioritizing such initiatives

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
