Summary 

The People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner (BP) plays a pivotal role in shaping a thriving workplace culture, fostering employee engagement, and driving impactful people initiatives for the business areas they support. A strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach, the P&C BP builds trusted relationships with leaders and employees alike, enabling them to anticipate and address people needs that align with functional success. From talent acquisition to offboarding, the BP manages the full employee lifecycle while serving as a key advisor on recruitment, employee relations, and broader P&C strategies. 

Reporting to the Director, P&C, this role works closely with the broader P&C team to ensure seamless delivery of people solutions that align with business objectives. 

Job Responsibilities 

Strategic Partnership: 

  • Partner with business leaders to understand their goals and align P&C strategies to drive success. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor, delivering insights and solutions that enhance people performance and business outcomes. 
  • Anticipate workforce needs and develop proactive strategies to address talent and organizational challenges.

Talent Management: 

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across the corporate business portfolio, ensuring the attraction and hiring of top talent that aligns with organizational goals and values. 
  • Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to build strong talent pipelines for current and future needs. 
  • Support employee development and retention through personalized career growth programs and structured succession planning. 
  • Collaborate with leaders to proactively identify and address talent gaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.  

Employee Relations: 

  • Be a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive and inclusive culture. 
  • Provide guidance and support for conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Conduct investigations as needed and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies. 

Culture & Employee Engagement: 

  • Create and execute programs that enhance culture, employee engagement, and motivation. 
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts to create a supportive environment for all employees. 
  • Organize and support culture activities and events to strengthen collaboration and cross-functional relationships. 

HR Operations: 

  • Oversee core HR operations, including onboarding, benefits administration, and HRIS processes. 
  • Maintain compliance with local labor laws and company policies, addressing risks proactively. 
  • Leverage HR metrics to identify trends and inform decision making. 

Education & Experience  

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field  
  • 3-5 years of progressive generalist HR experience 
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian labor laws and HR best practices. 
  • Proven experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition. 
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to achieve shared business goals. 
  • Proficiency in HRIS and ATS systems (Ceridian Dayforce or Workday experience is an asset). 
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada (Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen).

Compensation, Benefits & Perks 

Daiya’s compensation offerings are based on a pay-for-performance philosophy. Thepay range for this position is from$75,000 - $100,000annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Permanent team members may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
