Why Patients Need You

Pfizer’s U.S. migraine portfolio consists of two, complimentary, treatments – NURTEC ODT and Zavzpret.  NURTEC ODT is the first and only FDA approved oral CGRP receptor antagonist that treats both acute and preventive migraine. NURTEC ODT has the opportunity to change the paradigm in migraine treatment and potentially establish a new standard of care.  Zavzpret is the first and only FDA approved, CGRP receptor antagonist nasal spray, that is designed to provide patients fast relief from a migraine attack with just one spray.

Over 40 million patients in the U.S. currently suffer from migraine but less than 25% seek care.  About 1.2 million migraine patients visit the ER per year and almost 80% of them never sought care from a community HCP before going to the ED.  Migraine creates a significant economic burden to the U.S. healthcare system, costing over $78B annually.

Pfizer has made significant investments in excess of $500M in the migraine portfolio.  Nurtec ODT has been identified as a priority blockbuster product that will need to deliver 50% growth in the coming year within a very competitive market.
