Role Summary:

The CIT IPOP (Inpatient/ Outpatient) Program Registered Nurse will apply the nursing process, technical, and clinical skills to meet the needs of the patient and family, while building healing relationships with our patients that focus on recovery and survivorship in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Every patient is unique, which is why we work closely with physicians and conduct in-depth evaluations before recommending a personalized treatment plan. As a part of the VCU Massey Cancer Center, the largest adult and pediatric stem cell and bone marrow transplant provider in all of Virginia, we offer the latest FDA- approved CAR-T immunotherapies, clinical trials testing new and promising forms of cellular immunotherapies, as well as all forms of stem cell and bone marrow transplantation. We provide both outpatient and inpatient services in the same facility, and provide a suite of support services that range from helping minimize symptoms and side effects to coping with the cognitive, emotional, and psychological effects of cancer.

As a CIT RN you are also collaborating with the team to assess and address goals of patient care, while educating patients on disease and treatment options. Through respectful, attentive, and compassionate care, our multidisciplinary care team builds healing relationships with our patients that focus on recovery and survivorship. We work closely with a large team of supportive care specialists to address the psychological and social impacts of cancer for our patients.

At VCU Health, we are a community of individuals who come together to change the world and our patients’ lives. Your individuality and diversity- of culture, thinking, learning, and leading- is valued, sought after, and celebrated. Your expertise will be welcomed, your knowledge will be expanded, and your abilities will be challenged. VCU Health and the CIT program is somewhere you know you are a part of something bigger than yourself and can take pride in your work.
