As a Java Software Engineer, you will be dedicated to your microservices and deal with challenges of large architecture that is scalable, balanced, sends over 500 million messages daily, and helps our clients to grow their business. 
 

What will you work on at Infobip?

We are searching for a new member to expand one of teams belonging to the Platform as a Service RA. PaaS is internal RA that supports Infobip engineering by providing a development framework - a set of internal tools, libraries, services and processes that exist so the rest of development can focus on solving business problems instead of re-inventing the wheel. 

You will work on developing and scaling data intensive applications that form a central content storage, management and delivery solution. This solution processes thousands of files per second over dozen locations world wide and serves as a building block utilized for various communication channels such as MMS, Email, WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, Voice and WebRTC.

What will you do at Infobip?

* Develop, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot your team services
* Have full ownership of the code you produce
* Write well designed, testable and scalable code in accordance with clean code principles
* Have a general overview and understanding of the interactions and dependencies in the entire system
* Grow towards full stack development and for us this means work primarily on backend development but also expand your knowledge on working with databases, system design, alerting and monitoring tools and frontend development
* Work within agile framework (Scrum, LESS) and have a dedicated Product Manager
* Participate with your team in agile practices such as sprint planning and retrospectives
* Expand and improve your knowledge both internally and externally and be a part of engineering community
 

Required qualifications

* Experience working with Java (company standard is Java 17 and above)
* Experience with Spring and Spring Boot development
* Good knowledge and understanding of general object-oriented principles, data structures and algorithms
* Willingness to collaborate, learn and share knowledge
 

Nice to have qualifications

* Worked with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence and Slack
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Canary or similar 
* Familiarity with observability stack such as: Prometheus, Grafana, OpsGenie
* Experience with Kafka and MSSQL Server
* Experience with or willingness to learn about cloud services: Amazon AWS s3, Azure Blob, Cloudfront
* Experience with database design, normalization, performance optimization and writing stored procedures
* Understanding of Content Delivery Networks
* Experience with shell scripting
* Experience in working with distributed systems
* Experience in working with concurrent and multi-tier applications
* Appreciation for values, rules and practices of Extreme programming
* Experience with or willingness to try: pair programming, tdd, bdd, acceptance testing, trunk based development
* Experience with clean/hexagonal architecture (ports and adapters)
* Readiness to adopt, implement or propose new technologies
* Appreciation for poetry written by Tin Ujević :)
