A Brief Overview:
Medicare Stars is dedicated to improving health outcomes and member satisfaction by achieving and sustaining top performance on CMS Star Ratings. This organization plays a pivotal role in advancing quality initiatives and operational excellence for Medicare members.

This role is part of the Aetna Government Enterprise Delivery organization, which provides the structure, oversight, and cross-functional alignment needed to deliver large-scale initiatives that drive measurable outcomes across Medicare programs.

Role Summary
Serve as the primary project manager for complex, fast-paced, and high-visibility programs within the Medicare Stars organization. Drive initiatives that directly impact Star Ratings and member experience, leading cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements. Retain key scrum master responsibilities to promote agile values and continuous team effectiveness.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, high-visibility projects that advance Medicare Stars objectives, including quality improvement and member experience.
  • Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure successful delivery of Stars-related initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business, A&BC and technology partners to define requirements, success metrics (including Star Ratings), and risk management strategies aligned with Stars outcomes.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve project risks and obstacles, always with a focus on supporting Stars performance goals.
  • Facilitate project governance, status reporting, and executive updates, demonstrating clear linkage to Stars program priorities.
  • Retain scrum master responsibilities, including facilitating certain Scrum events, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement to support the teams.
  • Coach teams on agile principles and practices, emphasizing their role in driving quality and Star Ratings outcomes.
  • Interpret agile metrics and reporting frameworks to monitor team progress on Stars initiatives and develop actionable insights.
  • Support Product Owners in backlog management and prioritization, ensuring strong alignment with Medicare Stars strategies.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, removing impediments and enabling teams to deliver results that move the needle on Star Ratings.

  • 7-10+ years of work experience

  • Adept at problem solving and decision making skills

  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills

  • Adept at business intelligence


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) preferred.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $260,590.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
