What you will do 

You will provide overall leadership of our Johnson Controls (JCI) Marinette distribution center supporting the FSP/ Water Mechanical  product business units. You will promote a performance-based culture, passionate about providing our customers with an outstanding experience. You will also partner with peers in Manufacturing, Inventory Control and Quality to build solutions and processes that yield perfect shipments, stable inventory levels, and optimal efficiency.  

How you will do it 

Management 

  • Provide overall leadership of the distribution center (DC) with a team of ~4 supervisors and ~60-70 warehouse associates/staff. 

  • Ensure all distribution work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in adherence to company policies, local, state, federal, and international laws.  

  • Assist in the development and support of regional distribution strategies to achieve high service levels and efficient inventory placement.  

  • Directly impact business profitability and customer experience.  

  • Operational responsibility for end results, planning and finances/budget. 

  • Set policies and business strategy for the DC operation. 

Operations 

  • Develop and manage inbound, outbound, returns, and value-added service processes to ensure the highest levels of on-time service, quality, and efficiency.  

  • Work seamlessly across multiple functions within the organization to understand requirements and lead change management in order to deliver enterprise-wide programs.  

  • Provide a comprehensive understanding of customer needs. 

  • Identify and interpret changes in internal and external customer requirements. 

  • Assist in developing meaningful metrics regarding warehouse activity and performance.  

Project Management 

  • Lead the local deployment of Lean Management methodologies including the identification, development and implementation of Continuous Process Improvement, Kaizens, and Six Sigma initiatives involving safety, quality, productivity, and other cross-functional opportunities. 

  • Safety, Sanitation, Security 

  • Lead operations in a manner that promotes safety and is aligned with OSHA and other appropriate standards. 

What we look for 

Required 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field. 

  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ related experience in a management role. 

  • Strong background in supply chain management, logistics and distribution operations. 

  • Strong leadership, organization and communication. 

  • Experience leading a multi-shift DC operation.  

  • Warehouse Management System experience. 

  • Familiarity with MHE. 

  • Ability to meet tight scheduling requirements, as well as able to shift priorities easily. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
