Position Overview:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end financial operations of Stake Brazil. This will involve overseeing financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with local accounting and tax regulations. The successful candidate will manage a 3rd party service provider responsible for bookkeeping and taxation, ensuring accurate and timely financial information. As Stake continue to expand throughout LATAM, there may be opportunity to manage other countries finance functions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure the compliance with financial accounting and regulatory standards, and report all accounting and financial data to shareholders, to the regulatory bodies, whenever applicable, and to the Ministry of Finance/SPA, if/when required, following the applicable rules.
- Oversee the preparation of the periodic financial statements, in accordance with the Brazilian Accounting Rules
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate 3rd party provider and review their bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including corporate and payroll taxes as well as VAT, whenever applicable
- Stay updated on tax regulations and implement necessary changes.
- Prepare and present financial reports to Country Manager, Group Finance Team and other stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks
- Financial planning, budget preparation and monitoring, cash flow and financial risk management to ensure adequate liquidity for the company and to keep the necessary financial reserve as per required by Article 11, item III of Ordinance 827.
- Manage local audit requirements, where relevant.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in both English and Portuguese
- CA/CPA or similar certification.
- 10 years accounting experience; 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Brazilian financial regulations and tax laws.
- Sports & Gambling knowledge advantageous.
- LATAM cross border financial experience.
Relationships :
- This position will work closely with the Brazil Country Manager and Legal Team, as well as Group Finance Functions including Tax, Financial Accounting and Commercial Finance
