CMC Markets is seeking a Market Data SME to lead and shape our global Market Data function. This newly created role offers full end-to-end ownership for defining, delivering and optimising our market data strategy, driving measurable value, efficiency and insight across the business.

In this role you will set the direction for how CMC harnesses market data to inform smarter decisions, deliver operational and commercial excellence, and create sustainable competitive advantage.

This position sits at the heart of CMC’s growth agenda with a clear mandate to reimagine how we use, manage and monetise market data. You’ll work across the front office, product, technology, procurement, and finance functions to challenge current patterns, uncover opportunities, and embed a best-in-class approach to market data.

You’ll also provide leadership to our Market Data team, ensuring we move from a reactive support model to a proactive, insight-driven function that delivers real business value.

Please note that this is an onsite role that will require you to work within our London office (near Liverpool street) 5 days on site per week.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve CMC’s Market Data strategy, aligning operational, technical, and commercial priorities.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to understand data consumption, identify inefficiencies, and spot opportunities for innovation.
• Bring external expertise, staying ahead of emerging vendors, pricing models, and market trends to drive smarter commercial outcomes.
• Own delivery from concept through execution — including business case creation, vendor engagement, and measurable ROI.
• Lead and develop the Market Data team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a senior or leadership role within Market Data management or operations.
• Deep knowledge of the global market data ecosystem — vendors, licensing, pricing, and innovation trends.
• Proven success in strategic vendor management, including negotiation and cost optimisation.
• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the gravitas to influence at executive level.
