Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department objectives. Generally, works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, monitoring the flow of work between own department and others in alignment with business strategies, selecting and developing effective managers and work teams, managing own organization through reliable systems and processes, and producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.


Specific Job Summary

To generate maximum sales efficiencies, while maintaining or exceeding targeted net sales volume. Must promote and support all aspects of customer service and enhancement. They assist with the supervision of a sales line through coaching, modeling, and reinforcing effective sales and customer service practices, behaviors, and results. Must maintain a professional and personal image that upholds the MVW standards of integrity, quality, and service to customers.

Expected Contributions

Contributes to team, department and/or business results by performing more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.

Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.

Works to enhance the organization’s capabilities through effective staffing and development of others by:

Using appropriate MVW interviewing tools to hire the best managers available from inside or outside.

Hiring for diversity and balance of skills.

Setting and maintaining high standards for team and individual performance.

Providing timely coaching and feedback.

Making and rewarding distinctions in performance.

Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:

Identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes.

Providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution.

Participating in setting department operating plans.

Recognizing and celebrating team successes.

Achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.

Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.

Performs other duties as appropriate.

Specific Expected Contributions

Maintain maximum sales efficiencies while maintaining or exceeding targeted net sales volume.

Must be able to recruit, train, coach and counsel all Sales Representatives to maximize their 

potential.

Participates in the hiring, supervision, evaluation, counseling, training, coaching, and motivating the sales teams, including goal setting and monitoring of production.

Must be able to ride with Sales Representatives and critique their sales presentation.

Orients new employees and assists with continuing education/training of the sales team.

Administers written policies and procedures for departmental operations, including Human Resource paperwork.

Participates in staff meeting and attends other meetings, such as seminars and training as required.

Must review and communicate monthly evaluation of Team Leader/Sales Representative 

effectiveness and production based on set goals.

Implement on-going motivation programs for Sales Representatives.

Provide assistance to Sales Representatives in the form of a T.O. or button-up.

Represent the company in matters of customer relations (problem solving).

Generate maximum sales efficiencies while maintaining a professional and personal image and upholding Starwood standards of integrity, quality and service to customers.

Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally, a professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations as well as associate management experience. College degree and/or relevant experience generally required.

Specific Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree preferred. 

Three to five years’ experience gained through increasingly responsible positions within the vacation membership field.

Bilingual, ability to speak English and Spanish, fluently.

Proven track record of success.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.

Must be results-oriented with ability to be flexible.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and be a self-starter.

Proven time management skills.

Proven ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of the organization.

Detail oriented, ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work flexible hours and days. It is anticipated that the position will require working a provided schedule. Occasionally holidays and/or a six- or seven-day work schedule will be required.

Stands, sits, or walks for extended periods. Ability to climb stairs.

Moves, lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, and places objects weighing less than or equal to 35 pounds without assistance.
