Job Description Summary:

The Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology, serves as a clinical educator with a focus on lung cancer. The role involves providing inpatient and outpatient care to oncology patients, supervising medical trainees, and contributing to clinical education. Additional responsibilities include the development of a research program, participation in clinical trials, and involvement in divisional academic activities. The position supports the broader mission of the department through teaching, research, and service.

Job Duties:

  • Attend on the oncology inpatient service on a rotating basis. Supervise plan of care, procedures, tests and consultation ordering of house staff. Share on call weekend rotation.

  • Establish outpatient clinics focusing on lung cancer patients. Supervise fellows in plan of care, procedures, and tests for outpatients.

  • Support the departmental and divisional research efforts including clinical trial accrual and development and research mentoring. Attend Medical Oncology conferences, journal clubs, and present teaching lectures to learners.

Required Qualifications:

Certificate/Licensure: Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine; board certified/eligible in Medical Oncology

Work Experience: Experience in clinical trial development and translational research trials
